There is a department in every Indian IT office where common sense goes on an eternal vacation and that employees of the said department add nil value and where they work 8 hours and not a minute more but bestowed with grandiloquent powers wherein, they can promulgate the arbitrary code of conduct and spread how people focussed the organization is.
They get to lecture how everyone should be ethical, politically correct and establishes fervently, how they have made the whole organization vibrantly multicultural, inclusive and people friendly and whatever should that mean.
Resources. They term people as resources. A noun. It is misanthropic. My anger knows no bounds when I see the said department dispassionately refers to people as resources and how awful that is. Resourceful as an adjective is of well-found compliment, however, referring to an employee as a resource is painfully misanthropic. It treats us like a bunch of non-living meat and flesh, who is born to do the IT sweatshop's redundant tasks one after another and dance to the tune of overcontrolling, irrational and often brainless management. Yes, my anger knows no bounds.
Now, I can understand why, the said department can turn blind eye, when employees work over 12 or 13 hours and even weekends without any compensation. Mental and physical health are of no point of bother because we are resources, you see. The support from the supposedly people focussed department we get is watered down water.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the said department, the glorious, the ever condescending, the meritless, that which is worse than management, that which decks each and every employee, the human remains department.
My self-loathing wanes in comparison of the hatred I possess for these earthlings, who profess time and again, how sentient they are.
